Support for the computing environment in SGSUP to further the teaching, research end administrative functions of the school is handled through dedicated Enterprise Technology personnel. Our goal is to enable functionality at the highest capacity and offer excellent computer support.
- All computers, laptops, internal peripherals, monitors, software or any other applications that are requested to be purchased for an ASU system & require a download, MUST be submitted to the University Technology office for a "security review." They will determine if the purchase meets ASU guidelines for security, energy compliance or is a restricted purchase. Please Submit a ServiceNow ticket and attach the approval to your purchase request to the SGSUP business office. The SGSUP business office may assist with submitting a ticket on your behalf; please advise when submitting your purchase request.
- Employees are not expected to use a personal computer preferred for work. However, if a personal laptop is preferred to be used, please be sure to read over and follow all ASU guidelines regarding stored or shared information and using secure connections: https://getprotected.asu.edu/policy-practices/effective-practices
- All new SGSUP faculty and staff will be provided with a laptop or desktop under current department guidelines and budget. SGSUP does not provide office printers. Upgrades or additional purchases will need to come from faculty local funding.
- New graduate assistant, post doc, academic professional and hourly research position computers, monitors or other IT accessories will be purchased by the faculty who is hiring and funding the position.
- SGSUP has a small inventory of loaner laptops if needed during purchasing transitions, for meetings, events, etc. Please email [email protected] with questions and a list of all available items.
- Help to keep yours and everyone's information safe! Lock computers when you are away from them, use secure connections and run regular updates.
