We also assist with all of your hiring needs for your sponsored grants, such as hiring Graduate Research Assistance/Associations, Student Workers (hourly), Graders, Postdoctoral Research Scientists, Classified Staff and PRN employees. We can also provide support with Visa sponsorship.
- Please email requests to [email protected].
- The Department HR Manager contact is [email protected].
Hiring
- All hiring requests should be initiated and requested through [email protected]. You will then be guided through the process and guidelines for the particular hire (waiver, staff, national search, faculty associate, etc.).
- If requesting to hire a student worker, please complete a hiring form and forward to [email protected].
- Please note and keep in mind that hourly students may not start working until they are officially hired in Workday. Background checks or other delays with students not acknowledging actions as they are moved along in the hiring process, will result in adjusted start dates.
- SGSUP may provide visa sponsorship to faculty, post docs or academic professionals. We do not pay for filing fees or any other visa sponsorship for graduate students or staff.
- Background checks are required for ALL employees. Fingerprinting is also required for anyone that will supervise minors, handle any financial, Pcard, or HR operations.
- Any employee that may be requested to be hired to work out of state or fully remote, must be pre- approved by the school Director and the Dean (when required). International employee remote work cannot be approved at this time.
Onboarding and Off-boarding
- All new employees will receive an onboarding email from the SGSUP HR staff, approximately 2-weeks prior to their start date (sooner if applicable) to include important information regarding their hire, as well as an employee on-boarding checklist for reference.
- Supervisors are responsible for providing a first-week agenda for all new employees. The agenda should include meeting with key contacts such as the Dept. HR Mgr. (if required or needed), colleagues, business staff, advising and attendance to orientation.
- See your on-boarding information or the SGSUP facilities page for additional questions regarding space, keys, and ISAAC.
- Before any termination, retirement or resignation, SGSUP HR will provide an off-boarding checklist and provide optional exiting interview information.
