The Statement of Intent in your application to the PhD in Urban Planning program should explain, in no more than 600 words:

• What specialty in planning do you wish to pursue, and why?
• Describe the aspects of your education that will enable you to pursue the selected area of specialty (this may include written samples or a portfolio but they are not required)
• What additional training do you feel you can obtain at Arizona State University to realize your educational and career goals?
• Please provide other information (for example: research experience or information which might be drawn from your resume) that you feel we should consider in your application for admission
