Urban and Environmental Planning Career Fair 2020

Planning students at career fair

Planning Students:

Here’s our annual event especially for you -- your opportunity to meet with professional planners who will share their insights on building a career in planning. Learn what skills and experiences you should build while you’re in school, and talk with professionals seeking to hire interns or entry-level professionals.

Bring your resume, network and learn about upcoming internship and employment opportunities, too!

4:00-5:00 pm -  Panel: Developing a Career in Planning

Hear insights from a group of professional planners with a wide variety of roles -- an information-packed question-and-answer session.  Panelists:

  • Terri Hogan, Deputy Planning Director, City of Buckeye
  • Jim Holway, Director, Babbitt Center for Land and Water Policy, Lincoln Institute of Land Policy
  • Jennifer Love, Senior Transportation Planner, AECOM
  • David Williams, Development Services Director, Yavapai County

5:00-6:30 pm - Mixer (with planning organizations at conference tables)

Dozens of professional planners will be available at conference tables, ready to talk with you!  A good number are offering internship opportunities, and some are hiring entry-level professionals.  All of them will be happy to answer your questions about planning work in their setting, and offer their advice to you.  Current list of participating organizations PDF icon

If you’re looking for an internship or entry-level planning position, or working to build your network of professional contacts, bring copies of your resume to share!

Planning Professionals:

Planners of all kinds – Meet the next generation of planning professionals!  Share your experiences as a planner, and advise students for how they can prepare themselves for a career in your realm.

This is a great place to recruit an intern or new employee, too!

There is no fee to host a table at the mixer, and refreshments will be provided, as well as reserved, validated parking.  Would you like to participate?  Please RSVP here
