Urban and Environmental Planning Career Fair 2019

Two valuable opportunities!

4:00-5:00 pm -  Panel: Developing a Career in Planning

Hear insights from a group of professional planners with a wide variety of roles -- an information-packed question-and-answer session, featuring:

  • Greg Davies, AICP, Senior Transportation Planner, City of Scottsdale
  • Nancy Favour, Environmental Planner, U.S. Bureau of Land Management
  • Lyssa Hall, Planner, Espiritu Loci
  • Carol Hu, Director of Research & Strategy, Greater Phoenix Economic Council

5:00-6:30 pm - Mixer (with planning organizations at conference tables)

Dozens of professional planners will be available at conference tables, ready to talk with you!  A good number are offering internship opportunities, and some are hiring entry-level professionals.  All of them will be happy to answer your questions about planning work in their setting, and offer their advice to you.

If you’re looking for an internship or entry-level planning position, or working to build your network of professional contacts, bring copies of your resume to share!  PDF icon Current list of participants

Planning Students:

Here’s a great opportunity to meet with professional planners who will share their insights on building a career in planning. Learn what skills and experiences you should build while you’re in school. Network and become acquainted with professional organizations in Arizona and nationally.

New this year: Have your resume reviewed, learn about powerful introductions and more at drop-in career fair preparation sessions -- March 12 and March 26.

Planning Professionals:

Planners of all kinds – Meet the next generation of planning professionals!  Share your experiences as a planner, and advise students for how they can prepare themselves for a career in your realm.

This is a great place to recruit an intern or new employee, too!

There is no fee to host a table at the mixer, and refreshments will be provided, as well as reserved, validated parking.

Planning professionals:  Would you like to participate?  RSVP here, or email Barbara Trapido-Lurie, btl@asu.edu
