About the talk:

This presentation will explore the intersection of emergency management and disaster geography and touch on concepts such as risk assessments, risk perception and decision making, just sustainable development as well as federal disaster recovery and mitigation programs. The presentation will include an overview of Dr. Gall’s research portfolio and service such as the Spatial Hazard Events and Losses Database (SHELDUS), its use and utility for strategic disaster planning along with three ongoing projects funded by Feeding American, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, and the National Academies of Sciences Gulf Research Program.
