Rey named editor of Geographical Analysis

Effective July 1, Professor Sergio Rey will be editor ofGeographical Analysis, a leading peer-reviewed journal that publishes new research in geographical theory, model building, and quantitative methods.

Under Rey’s leadership, the journal will implement several new initiatives: First, beginning July first, it will move to an online manuscript submission system.

Second, the journal has arranged for reciprocal subscriptions to journals of the Regional Science Association International (RSAI). This means that individual subscribers to Geographical Analysis will have free digital access to Papers in Regional Science and Regional Science Policy and Practice, and RSAI members will have similar access to Geographical Analysis.

Finally, as of 2015, the journal will move to an online format, a move that is in keeping with major trends in the industry, and will make it easier for Libraries to manage and distribute the journal's contents.

Rey’s selection as the journal’s new editor was announced January 8, 2014 by Morton O’Kelley, Chair of the Geographical Analysis Executive Committee. His editorship is supported by John Wiley & Sons, the journal’s publisher as well as by the GeoDa Center for Geospatial Analysis and Computation.
