Planning Intern (2 positions), City of Apache Junction

The Planning Interns will assist Apache Junction's Development Services Department with various duties including rezoning, conditional use permits, cargo container permits, zoning mapping, addressing, letters of lawful non-conformity, zoning inquiries, special density permits, meeting attendance and presentations.

However note that due to the pandemic, most work will be done remotely, with regular teleconferences, and periodic visits to the Apache Junction office to receive work assignments.  The City of Apache Junction is practicing social distancing and following CDC guidelines for office-based work.

Interns should have completed a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Urban Planning or a closely related field within the last 24 months.

The intern positions are 19 hrs/week and may last up to 9 months.  Rate of pay is $12.37/hr.  In past years these internship positions have been a stepping-stone for recent graduates and Masters' students to build their careers as planners.
