The HACU National Internship Program partners with numerous government and corporate organizations to offer over 200 paid internships, primarily in Washington DC but also in locations around the country.
Many of the positions are a great fit for students in geography, urban planning, and especially GIS.
Because ASU is a member of HACU, the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, any student enrolled at ASU or recent graduate is eligible to participate in this program.
Students submit applications in which they describe their interests and goals. HACU staff then match academic backgrounds to internship descriptions provided by the host organizations.
In the past, interns have enhanced their professional skills through placements in departments of public affairs, accounting, human resources and information technology, as well as laboratories, hospitals, airports, and national forests and parks, among others. Some intern assignments have included completing and analyzing research, writing speeches, conducting audits, performing land surveys, creating web pages, conducting community health surveys, and developing outreach strategies for under-served populations.
Summer application deadline: Feb 15, 2019
