Eileen Baden, AICP, graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and minors in Environmental Policy & Planning and International Studies. She completed the Masters of Urban and Environmental Planning (MUEP) program at ASU in 2012. Ms. Baden completed an applied project for the MUEP degree where she wrote the master plan for the park in Eagar, Arizona. As part of the master plan, Ms. Baden conducted extensive public outreach by attending community day events, presenting at town council meetings, engaging high school students and sending out a community-wide survey.
Ms. Baden has worked as an Environmental Planner and Project Manager for various National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects. A few government agencies that projects were completed for include the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the U.S Forest Service (USFS). She has also worked on NEPA projects with various Native American tribes including Gila River Indian Community, San Carlos Apache Tribe and the Hopi Tribe.
Ms. Baden participated in planning a new state park called Rockin’ River Ranch in Camp Verde, AZ, on behalf of Arizona State Parks and Trails. Ms. Baden was responsible for coordinating the Technical Advisory Committee and public meetings, assisting with a visual resource survey, and communicating with local fire, police and other government agencies.
She is currently the President of the Arizona Association of Environmental Professionals (AZAEP) and will be serving in this role until June 2020.
