Career Navigator is your opportunity to learn about the diverse opportunities available to students with skills and knowledge of geography, GIS and urban planning.

  • 2:00 - 3:00 pm - Lightning Talks:  Hear short, lively presentations by six professionals who launched their careers based on academic work in geography, GIS or urban planning:
    • Meggan Dugan, Environmental Planner / Biologist, SWCA Environmental Consultants
    • Marko Haarma, GIS Director, CBRE Commercial Real Estate Services
    • John Hetrick, Manager of Strategic Engagement State and Local Government Relations, Salt River Project
    • Mark Melnychenko, Street Transportation Department Deputy Director, City of Phoenix
    • Matt Pace, Meteorologist, Arizona Department of Environmental Quality
    • Scott Wilken, AICP, Planning Project Manager, Maricopa Association of Governments
  • 3:00 - 5:00 pm - Career Fest:  Dozens of professionals will be at conference tables, ready to talk with you about their careers, and paths you can take as a student to prepare for careers like theirs. Also watch for the 'Ask a Professor' table; and specialists who can answer your questions about undergraduate and graduate degrees, and ASU resources and initiatives.

Student Registration: As a student you aren't required to register ahead of time in order to attend, but your RSVP will help with our planning. Also -- We'll provide printed name tags to students who register by Friday October 25!
